NASM CPT | MOV NAT LVL 2 COACH | CERTIFIED NUTRITION COACH
Hassiem's affinity for movement was evident from a young age. His journey began at 8 years old when he delved into martial arts, dedicating nine years to training in Shaolin Kung Fu. Alongside this passion, his interest in the performing arts bloomed, leading him into the worlds of acting and dance. Throughout high school, his fascination with movement evolved, propelling him into gymnastics, partner acrobatics, and circus arts.
By the time he reached college, Hassiem had honed his skills to become a proficient mover. Remarkably, his strength, agility, and coordination were cultivated without extensive exposure to traditional gym environments. Several years later, he found himself in New York City, securing a position at one of the best gyms in upper Manhattan, despite his limited gym experience.
Working within this setting, Hassiem recognized the pivotal role of strength and conditioning in enhancing movement capabilities. He firmly believed that gym activities should serve as a conduit for improving one's lifestyle beyond the gym's confines.
In the tumultuous year of 2020, the world grappled with a global pandemic, resulting in the closure of fitness facilities worldwide. Undeterred, Hassiem embraced the challenge. Transitioning to virtual coaching via platforms like Zoom, he drew upon his unconventional movement background and newfound expertise in strength and conditioning. Remarkably, not only did he achieve new heights in his own personal fitness during this period, but he also empowered countless others to do the same—without relying on a brick-and-mortar gym.
It was amidst these unprecedented times that Home Gym U, although unofficially, came into being; a testament to Hassiem's adaptability and commitment to fostering fitness outside of conventional settings.
